Free trial
In this help article, we'll show you how to offer a free trial to your customers.
Free trials are great for allowing your potential customers to try out your product or service before committing to make a purchase.
This can be an effective marketing strategy to help sellers like you reach a larger audience and increase conversion.
You can also use free trial periods to build trust with your customers and gather valuable feedback about your product or service.
Please note: Free trials only work on subscriptions and payment plans.
How to set up a free trial period for my checkout?
You can set a period of days to allow your customers to try your product or service without being charged.
Your customers will be charged as soon as the trial period ends.
Example:
Your customer purchases a subscription on May 3 at 14:00 with a 7-day trial period. Your customer will be charged on May 10 at 14:00.
If your customers wish to cancel the subscription or payment plan during the free trial period, they can do so in their customer portal.

Subscription
To offer a free trial for your subscription when setting up a new page, tick Offer a free trial and enter the number of days.
Payment plan
To offer a free trial for your payment plan when setting up a new page, tick Offer a free trial and enter the number of days.

Altering the free trial dates
Once a subscription payment has been made, you can extend or shorten the customer's free trial. This can be done within your Stripe account by the following steps:
- Locate the report of the subscription purchase in question in your Checkout Page account. It will be under Subscriptions on the left-hand side menu. Click on the subscription report.
2. You will be then taken to the detailed report of the subscription purchase. Click "View Stripe" on the right side menu.
3. You will then be taken to the subscription purchase report within your Stripe account in a new tab. Click Actions from the top right corner, and then Update subscription.
4. An overlay will appear from the right-hand side where you can edit the details of this subscription purchase. Scroll down to locate the Free trial days and click to edit it.
5. You can decrease or increase your customer's free trial dates here.
